B Moore

b. Robert Moore, a self-taught contemporary artist with a multidisciplinary approach to his craft, turned to painting as an outlet to combat drug addiction and alcoholism while exploring avenues for mental and emotional well-being.  His artistic journey is fueled by a profound sense of purpose, grounded in the art of storytelling and the power of foraging connections.  Robert has defined his unique style as “narrative” and is committed to infusing intention into every aspect of his work through deliberate choices, layering symbolism throughout each individual work.

Robert discovers his purpose and finds fulfillment in the realm of art by foraging connections, opening doors for dialogue, healing and fostering relatability through his work. Recognizing the complexity of human experiences, Robert acknowledges that outwards appearances often mask the intricate inner compositions and life experiences that have shaped individuals.  In understanding the inherent subjectivity of human nature, he strives to dismantle assumptions about narratives, opting instead to address them directly.  Robert seeks to represent the underrepresented and expose the most vulnerable facets of authenticity and growth, which he considers a form of “personal currency”.  This central goal permeates his work – to challenge conventional narratives, sparking contemplation on the experiences of African and African American diaspora, as well as the social and civil experiences of marginalized individuals.

Robert’s work can be found in diverse settings, from esteemed private collections to international art installations and permanent museum collections.  Unbound by artistic rules, or specific styles, he is in a constant state of evolution, dedicating himself to mastering his craft and expanding his creative horizons, all while remaining committed to the transformative power of his art.
